The best horse in the world, Arrogate, became the highest-earning thoroughbred of all time with a breathtaking success in the Dubai World Cup, as provided extensive, on-the-ground coverage of the emirate’s most important sporting and social event.

In the build-up to the race, his American trainer Bob Baffert exclusively told Vision Sport in a wide-ranging interview that he was “trying to build [Arrogate’s] legacy, to show everyone what he can really do”.

In the event, Arrogate ran out arguably the most impressive winner in the race’s 22-year history, overcoming adversity in the form of a wet surface, a slow start and trouble in running to cut down his 13 rivals in scintillating style.

Sam Price, previously of the Racing Post, reported on the event for, and commented: “Interviewing a legend of the training ranks like Bob Baffert was a privilege and a definite career highlight. He proved a fascinating subject with his approachable, engaging and charismatic persona, while the enthusiasm with which he talked about Arrogate was infectious. The following day, I set my alarm for 4am to watch Arrogate go through some routine work at Meydan, and I’ve never seen so many media professionals up that early – all of them were craning to get a view of the muscular grey superstar. And it was spectacular to watch from trackside as he showed the qualities of a true champion to win the Dubai World Cup.”
